29 Nov 2011 / 0 Comments / in Articles, Clients, Integrating Work and Learning, JC, Kick-start Engagement/by Jay Cross

Businesses talk about adapting to change quickly, but they don’t take advantage of it. When a practice is not producing results, it’s time to unlearn it. Organizations that don’t embrace new ways of operating and radically different approaches to corporate learning will not survive for three reasons: Read more →

Integrating learning into the business

Corporations overinvest in formal training programs while neglecting natural, simpler informal processes. Read more →

Not Without Purpose

10 Jun 2006 / 0 Comments / in Inspiring Change, Integrating Work and Learning, JC/by Jay Cross

No one has time. Life on earth is faster, faster, faster. We are inundated with information, showered with technological innovation, and pestered by multiple media 24/7. Business is a blur. Life is uncertain. People are stressed. Work is hell. It’s time to do something about this new way of life. Read more →

Sight Mammals

Humans are sight mammals, proposes e-learning guru Jay Cross. They learn almost twice as well from images and words as from words alone. Visuals engage both hemispheres of the human brain. Pictures translate across cultures, education levels, and age groups. Yet, most content of corporate learning is text. Schools spend years teaching how to read but only hours on visual literacy. It’s high time for us to open our eyes to the possibilities, Cross asserts. Read more →
