In the first half of 2011, we led the corporate university of a 30,000-employee international health company on the journey to become innovation consultants. We helped the innovation swat team develop a culture of collaboration, learn social business by working on stretch projects, and establish a knowledgebase of guidance on implementing social learning.
Everyone practiced on the Alliance’s platform of blogs, microblogs, social networks, and wiki until we got the green light to implement Jive inside the firewall. We conducted daily virtual coffee sessions, a dozen webinars, and several on-site workshops. We coached a dozen in-house consultants to get them up to speed. We distributed and worked through copies of the Working Smarter Fieldbook, Jane Hart’s Social Learning Handbook, and Clark Quinn’s Designing mLearning.
We provided guidance on onboarding, call center optimization, user-generated content, distributed management development, and performance consulting. The organization is now poised to replace boring, expensive, time-consuming elearning courseware with pull micro-content reinforced with peer learning.
From the engagement manager,
What the Internet Time Alliance brought to the table in our engagement was not only their extensive experience but also the expertise of their networks as well. While we in our organization have networks of our own, the quality and extensiveness of the Alliance network added a value that we would not have been able to tap alone, and led us to a superior solution that will better serve our customers.
